Necromare VSTs

An incredibly talented artist who goes by the name Necromare created an amazing amount of VST instruments a few years back. I was privileged to have an electronic chat with him and not only did he give permission to mirror the VSTs I was already aware that he had created, but also many I never knew existed. These instruments range from traditional pianos, music boxes and brass instruments to wild soundscapes and horror instruments that are perfect for Halloween. These VSTis are Windows 32 bit.

I made a mistake with the Recorder zip, if you got it earlier than 4/2/16 please download it again, sorry I put the receiver  mse in the zip instead of the recorder one.

These instruments are Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Please credit Necromare.

    1. You should just be able to unzip them into your VST directory. Remember they are Windows 32 bit only.

  2. Hi friends,

    1. If I don't credit the creator, am I not allowed to use the instruments?

    2. There's a couple I want to use in tracks. Is it even possible to credit instrument-makers when you publish tracks online?

    Thanks!

    1. Most places like Youtube and Soundcloud allow some sort of message. You could just writing "Some instruments by Necromare" or something at the end of your message.

    2. Hi Joe,
      Thanks for the reply!
Would I be allowed to use an instrument on a commercial iTunes release?

The tracks won't allow a credit?!
      Thanks! A.

    3. I looked at necromare's blog, http://necromare.blogspot.com/ , and on his newest instrument he says, "Feel free to use this in your production just do not sell or repackage samples." So I think its fine.

    1. I can run 32bit Studio One on my 64 bit computer and it works that way. If you only have a 64 bit DAW I think you can run JBridge.

  6. Hey,
when I put the dll files into my vst directory, they open in my DAW as maize sampler and I don't know how to play the actual instrument within that player.
    Do you know how?

    1. Remember they are Win 32 only.
You need the dll in your vst directory and the .instrument subdirectory in the vst directory as well. Maize reads the instrument from the subdirectory and if it can't find that it won't load the instrument.

  11. Great instruments, but the Koto is mapped a 1/2 step down. Playing the C note registers a pitch of B, whereas the Shamisen C note correctly registers a pitch of C.
